    CME launches ether futures

    The exchange announced the addition of cash-settled ether futures on a day that saw ETH break $600 on the coattails of bitcoin’s new all-time high

    The addition of ether futures to the “time-tested, regulated CME Group derivatives marketplace” will help Ethereum investors better manage price risk, said Tim McCourt, the CME Group’s global head of equity index and alternative investment products.

In a press release on December 16, CME Group, one of the first companies to launch Bitcoin futures trading in 2017, confirmed that ether futures would launch in February next year.
