Satoshi or not, judge fines Craig Wright $650,000 for courtroom antics

A judge accused Wright of lying and wasting the court’s time in a lawsuit seeking half of the fortune held by the real Satoshi Nakamoto

The Judge who accused Craig Wright of lying in court may order him to pay $650,000 to the estate of his late partner, Dave Kleiman. Wright claims to have created Bitcoin and is being sued for half of a one million bitcoin cache mined by Satoshi Nakamoto.

Craig Wright unable to produce $5 billion to settle Bitcoin lawsuit

The self-proclaimed Satoshi Nakamoto broke off settlement talks with the estate of his late partner, who wants half of a 1.1 million bitcoin cache bitcoin’s creator should own

In the latest act of the Craig Wright Follies, the self-proclaimed Satoshi is claiming poverty. Okay, maybe not poverty, exactly, but he has apparently backed out of a settlement deal to resolve the $10 billion lawsuit by the estate of his late partner, Dave Kleiman. According to Kleiman’s quite angry lawyers, he now says he can’t afford it.

Here’s why we may not get another round of discovery—or why we may never know who is Satoshi Nakamoto

On Thursday, a judge granted Ira Kleiman’s attorney a 21-day extension on the motion to quash the subpoena against Modern Consensus contributor Brendan Sullivan (that’s me). This, along with a yet-to-be published interview with Craig Wright and a document filed in court earlier this week, leads me to think that settlement talks are in the works. I’ll go through all three documents and why they matter.
