Tether’s press page hasn’t updated in four years

We feel bad for the most forgotten page in crypto

One of the saddest pages in crypto is in open sight for all to see. Of course, we’re talking about Tether’s “press” page. It’s just 10 articles, with the last one posted on April 22, 2015 and it was a CoinDesk story about using ShapeShift to buy USDT. On that day, bitcoins were trading around $235 and Trump hadn’t even announced yet that he was running for president. Seriously. Yes, we’re soon near the fourth anniversary of the last press story Tether deemed favorable and worthy enough to share with the whole world.

Now of course that doesn’t mean Tether doesn’t generate press stories. We’ve written way more than 10 stories about Tether. And just about every major crypto and financial publication has done a few pieces about the embattled stablecoin maker and sister company to the Bitfinex exchange. After all, a huge chuck of bitcoin volume is traded against tethers (according to CryptoCompare, its as much as three-quarters of all trades against another currency).

Even Equi Capital has a more recent post (though just one article) and they’ve been under fire, too, for all sorts of stuff. We’ll get back to our dear readers the moment we find Tezos’ press page.

In the meantime, we’ll be happy to volunteer—yes, that’s right, we said “volunteer” as in “free of charge”—to update Tether’s press page.

Tether, if you guys are reading this, we’re here for you.
