On March 17, a group of Steem community members and developers announced that Hive, a hard fork of the Steem blockchain, will take place on March 20. All STEEM token holders will receive an identical amount of Hive tokens—excluding the roughly 20% of outstanding STEEM Tron CEO Justin Sun acquired when he bought Steemit, the developer of the Steem project.
