    Lawsuit looming, Ripple sees solidarity and departures

    As the impact of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s lawsuit hits some supporters are taking off, some are backing away, and some are offering support

    While Ripple has offered an aggressive response, promising to fight the enforcement action it calls “an assault on the entire American cryptocurrency industry and an assault on American innovation”—companies working with Ripple and XRP have had very different responses.

    Ripple, Intermex pen Mexican remittances deal

    International Money Express will use the blockchain payments company’s XRP-powered On-Demand Liquidity service to cut costs and reduce wait times

    In an announcement Tuesday, Ripple said that its technology will be used for a new XRP-based remittance service from Intermex, a money remittance services company focused primarily on the Latin America and Caribbean corridor.

    MoneyGram confirms massive XRP use in Mexican peso transactions

    The money transfer service’s partnership with liquidity provider RippleNet now accounts for 10% of its Mexican business, and is set to go global

    The head of MoneyGram confirmed today that the global money transfer company has been using XRP cryptocurrency to exchange U.S. dollars and Mexican pesos extensively since July.

    Ripple and MoneyGram announce deal

    The partnership can cut the cost of remittances from as much as $30 to fractions of a cent

    Ripple has announced a partnership that will bring blockchain technology to MoneyGram, a leading global money transfer firm that operates in more than 200 countries. As part of the deal, Ripple has committed $50 million to MoneyGram, which it can draw on in exchange for equity over the life of the two-year deal.
